This is a one-year apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973. Candidates with higher qualifications (B.E./B.Tech and above) are not eligible for these Diploma Apprentice positions.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Regular – Full time) in the relevant discipline from any of the following:
- State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government; OR
- University in relevant discipline; OR
- Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
Eligible Passing Years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 & May 2026.
Important Note: Higher qualified candidates (B.E./B.Tech and above) are not required and will not be considered for Diploma Apprentices selection. Percentage of marks in the Diploma Examination must be entered correctly in the NATS portal.
Candidates must be hailing from Tamil Nadu.

TNPDCL Diploma Apprentice Selection Process 2026
The selection process will be as follows:
- Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) will prepare the shortlist from the online application data.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed Diploma qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines.
- Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their registered Email ID.
- Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at TNPDCL Office.
It is mandatory to enter the correct percentage of marks in the Diploma Examination in the NATS portal. If percentage of marks is not furnished, the candidature will not be considered.

Candidates must apply online through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal only. There are three categories based on enrollment status:

- Complete any pending profile details.
