Grand Total Vacancies: 58 Posts (55 Journeyman + 3 Driver). Some posts include backlog vacancies. Reservations are as per rules.
GRSE Journeyman & Driver Eligibility Criteria 2026
For all Journeyman posts: Matriculation (10th Std. pass) with NAC / NTC in the respective trade (as detailed in the vacancy table above). Some trades have additional desirable qualifications (e.g., Crane Operation certification, Heavy Vehicle Driving License).
For Driver (Vehicle):
- Matriculation (10th Std. pass) with valid Commercial LMV Driving License.
- Desirable: Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
- Minimum 06 years post-qualification experience of Driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicle in an organization/firm/rental agency on direct employment basis. Candidates from Armed Forces meeting the eligibility criteria may also apply.
- Desirable: Experience as Staff Car Driver for Senior Officers of Govt. organizations/PSUs.
Qualifications and experience are as on 01 October 2026. Only candidates meeting the essential qualifications will be considered.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age Limit: 26 years as on 01.10.2026
- Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST (where posts are reserved in respective categories).
- Additional age relaxations for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as per rules (UR-10 years, OBC-13 years, SC/ST-15 years).

GRSE Journeyman & Driver Selection Process 2026
In case a large number of applications are received, shortlisting will be done based on the percentage of marks scored in the qualifying examination (NAC/NTC marks as applicable).
- Written Test followed by Practical (Trade) Test.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of qualifying nature for Driver (Material Handling), Rigger and Crane Operator posts (in addition to Written & Practical Test).
- PET is not applicable for shortlisted ex-Agniveer candidates.
Final selection will be based on the performance in the Written Test and Practical Test (subject to qualifying in PET where applicable).
