✅ Indian Navy Sports Quota 2026 Eligible Disciplines:
Male: Aquatics, Athletics, Gymnastics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Equestrian, Football, Fencing, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting, Squash, Tennis and Wrestling.
Female: Athletics, Aquatics, Kayaking & Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing.
- Shooting: Only male athletes in Group ‘A’ and the top 25 athletes in Group ‘B’ as per the latest National Ranking.
- Sailing: Only medal winners at International / Senior Nationals in ILCA7, ILCA6, 49er and 49er FX boat classes.
✅ Indian Navy Sports Quota 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
- Marital Status: Unmarried male and female candidates only.
- Education: 10+2 pass in any stream, or equivalent examination.
- Age: 17½ to 25 years as on commencement of the course. Date of birth must fall between 01 September 2001 and 28 February 2009 (both days inclusive).
- Height: Male – minimum 157 cm | Female – minimum 152 cm. Candidates must be medically fit for service ashore and afloat.
Sports achievement for Direct Entry Petty Officer: Medal at Junior / Senior National level representing a State; or represented India internationally in an individual event; or represented State / country in a team event at National / International level; or medal in Khelo India Games / Youth Games or above. Federation certificates must be attached.
Sports achievement for Direct Entry Chief Petty Officer: Medal in World Championship / Asian Championship / Asian Games / CWG / World Cup; or represented India twice in Asian Games / CWG / World Cup; or represented India in the Olympics.
✅ Indian Navy Sports Quota Salary 2026:
- During initial training: Stipend ₹14,600 per month
- After successful training: Direct Entry Petty Officer – Pay Level 5 | Direct Entry Chief Petty Officer – Pay Level 6
- Military Service Pay (MSP) and other admissible allowances extra
- Insurance: ₹75 lakh cover for sailors (on contribution basis)
- Uniform, food, accommodation, medical treatment, LTC, CGEA, HRA / group housing and leave as applicable
- Pension, gratuity and leave encashment after retirement as per rules
Initial training will be at INS Chilka, followed by professional training in the allotted trade. Branch / trade is allotted as per Navy requirement. Initial engagement is 15 years, subject to successful training. Selected sports entries serve a 3-year probation; failure to meet prescribed sports performance can lead to discharge.

- Screening / shortlisting of applications (higher sports achievements get priority)
- Sports Trials (call letter issued to shortlisted candidates)
- Medical Examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai or INS India, Delhi
- Final enrolment as per vacancies and requirement in that sport
Promotion is available up to Master Chief Petty Officer and, for eligible sailors, to Commissioned Officer through prescribed examinations and selection.

✅ How to Apply for Indian Navy Sports Quota 02/2026:
There is no online form. Submit only one application on A4 paper in the prescribed format. Multiple applications for the same batch can lead to rejection.
➢ Step 1: Download the Sports Quota application form from the notification / joinindiannavy.gov.in.
➢ Step 2: Fill the form carefully and select Direct Entry Petty Officer or Chief Petty Officer (Sports Entry).
➢ Step 3: Attach self-attested 10th certificate (DOB), 10th mark sheet, 12th certificate & mark sheet, domicile, sports / NCC certificates, and one extra recent colour passport photograph signed on the reverse.
➢ Step 4: Enclose two self-addressed envelopes (22 × 10 cm) with a ₹10 stamp on one envelope.
➢ Step 5: Punch and tie all papers with strong thread. On the envelope, write the entry type, sports discipline and level of achievement.
