Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) invites online applications for the recruitment of 29 Assistant Section Officer (Group-B) posts in the Office of the Advocate General, Odisha, Cuttack. The selection will be based on a Written Examination (Objective Type-MCQ) and a qualifying Skill Test in Computer (Practical). Age Limit:

✔️ 21 to 32 years as on 01/01/2025 (born between 02/01/1993 and 01/01/2004).
✔️ Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen; 10 years for PwD (≥40% disability); 15 years for SC/ST PwD.

Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent, with adequate knowledge in computer applications (as per schedule).
Language: Must read, write, and speak Odia; passed Middle School with Odia as a subject, or Matriculation with Odia as medium, or Odia in Class VII, or Odia test by School and Mass Education Department.
Other Requirements: Indian citizen; good mental and physical health; no more than one living spouse (unless exempted); not debarred by OPSC/UPSC/other PSCs.

Selection Process:

✔️ Written Examination (400 Marks):

- Paper I: General Awareness (100 marks, 100 MCQs, 1.5 hrs).
- Paper II: Reasoning & Mental Ability (50 marks), Mathematics (10th level, 50 marks), 1.5 hrs.
- Paper III: English (100 marks), Odia (100 marks), 2 hrs.
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
- Qualifying marks: UR - 35%, SC/ST/PwD - 30%, Ex-Servicemen as per category.

✔️ Skill Test in Computer (Practical, 50 Marks):

- Qualifying (40% marks required); covers Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Access, Internet usage.
- 1.5 times the vacancies shortlisted based on written exam merit.
✔️ Final Ranking: Based on written exam marks; tie-breakers: higher marks in General Knowledge (Paper I), then older age.
✔️ Document verification post-written exam; provisional admission subject to eligibility check.
