Applications are invited from eligible Tamil Nadu state candidates and Indian Nationals for the selection and engagement of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks, for filling up 4442 vacancies in various Head Offices / Sub Offices / B.O. (1) Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard (Matric) with passing marks in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.
(2) Compulsory knowledge of Local Language, The candidate should have studied the local language of Tamil at least up to 10th standard.
(3) The candidates will be required to furnish Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any Computer Training Institute run by Central Government/State Government /Universities / Boards / Private Institutions Organizations. This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Matriculation or class XII or any other higher educational level and in such cases, a separate certificate will not be insisted upon.

Application Fee: ₹ 100/- for each set of five options. The payment of fee is exempted for all female candidates, all SC/ST candidates and all PwD candidates.

Selection Process: Selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications. No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification. Only marks obtained in 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection.

Note: A candidate can apply for a maximum of twenty posts all over India per cycle of online engagement. This inter alia means that a prospective candidate can apply for twenty posts on a single application spread across one Circle or several Circles.

Tamilnadu Postal Circle has published Recruitment notification for the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the Tamil Nadu Circle. The last date for submission of online applications is 19th August 2017. Candidates who has registered earlier (before 20th May 2017) and could not able to apply again.

(1) Educational Qualification - the candidate should pass 10th (Matric) standard from approved state boards by the respective State Govt. / Central Govt. No weightage will be given for possessing any qualification(s) higher than the mandatory educational qualification. The Candidate passed Xth class examination in first attempt will be treated as meritorious against those passed compartmentally.
(2) Computer Knowledge - The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ State Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose. This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification provided the candidate submits a certificate of Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification in which he/she has studied computer as a subject.
(3) Residence - The candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the Branch Post Office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect in the application. The candidate selected for the post of other than GDS BPM should reside in post village/delivery jurisdiction.

Selection Process: The selection made only through 10th Standard Marks (Accuracy of 04 Decimals). No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification. In case candidates get the same marks, the merit order would be taken as DOB(higher age as merit), ST female, SC female, OBC female, UR female, ST Male, SC Male, OBC male, UR male.

Application Fee: For General / OBC Male candidates are required to pay ₹ 100/- at any Head Post Office. Candidate who requires to make the payment has to visit any Head Post Office to make the payment. For making the payment candidate should inform Registration Number at the PO Counter. There is no fee for all Female and SC/ST candidates. For applying online candidate should submit the application by providing information of Registration Number (and Fee payment Number once, in case of fee to be paid) to proceed to fill up the subsequent information. Documents once uploaded against one registration number will remain in the server hence for submission of subsequent posts or for other Circles, candidates need not upload any documents further.

How to Apply: The Desirous Candidates to apply Online will have to register himself in India Post online portal with the basic details to obtain the Registration Number. The ending date for online submission of application is 09/05/2017 (The Last date for submission of online application extended up to 24/05/2017, The last date extended up to 05/06/2017).
