UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Exam 2014 Notification

UPSC-Geologist-Exam-2014Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued examination notifications for combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2014 will be hold on 24th May 2014. A competitive examination for recruitment to the following posts on a temporary basis in the first instance. Eligible candidates Apply Online on or before 31st March 2014.

Age Limit:

Category I Posts –> 21 to 32 years on the first day of the month of August of the year in which the Examination is to be held [i.e. as on 1st August, 2014] i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August 1993.

Category II Posts –> 21 to of 35 years on 1st August, 2014 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1979 and not later than 1sl August, 1993.

Age Relaxation: 05 Years for SC/ST Candidates; 07 Years for Government servants; 03 Years for OBC; 05 Years for Jammu & Kashmir candidates, who during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989; 03 Years in the case of Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed  area and released as a consequence thereof; 05 Years for ex-serviceman candidates.

Educational Qualifications:

For Geologists -> Master's degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956).

For Geophysicists ->  M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed universities under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

For Chemists -> M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956) i.e. recognized University.

For Junior Hydrgeologists -> Master's degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; (OR) Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised University.

Application Fee: Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
