✅ WBPSC Clerkship 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Passed Madhyamik examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- Computer and Typing: Elementary knowledge of computer operation, with typing speed of 20 words per minute in English or 10 words per minute in Bengali. The option must be exercised at the time of application.
- Language: Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali. This is not required for candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali. Knowledge of Bengali will be tested for other candidates at the computer and typing stage.
- Nationality: Citizen of India, or such other nationals declared eligible by the Government of India.
- Age (as on 01.01.2024): Not below 18 years and not more than 45 years. Candidates should be born not earlier than 02 January 1979 and not later than 01 January 2006. Age as recorded in the Madhyamik or equivalent certificate only will be accepted.
- Age Relaxation: SC and ST of West Bengal – 5 years. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of West Bengal – 3 years. PwBD – upper age limit relaxable up to 45 years. Ex-Servicemen may deduct the period of service, subject to the resultant age not exceeding the maximum by more than 3 years. SC/ST/OBC candidates of other States are treated as general candidates.
✅ WBPSC Clerkship Salary 2024:
Pay Level: Level-6
Pay Scale: ₹22,700 – ₹58,500, besides DA, MA and HRA admissible as per ROPA, 2019.
All appointments will initially be made on a temporary basis.
✅ WBPSC Clerkship Selection Process:
- Part-I: Objective Type examination. Only candidates obtaining qualifying marks will be allowed to appear in Part-II.
- Part-II: Conventional Type written examination.
- Computer and Typing Test: Elementary knowledge of computer operation and typing will be judged only after the candidate qualifies in Part-I and Part-II.
The final merit list will be prepared on total marks of Part-I and Part-II, provided the candidate qualifies in the computer and typing test. A candidate who does not appear in Part-II will not be considered. Negative marking of 0.25 mark applies for each wrong answer in MCQs. Disclosure of identity in a Part-II answer script will lead to deduction of 10% of full marks of that paper.
Category-wise qualifying marks in aggregate of Part-I and Part-II: UR / EWS / MSP – 40%, OBC – 38%, SC – 35%, ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen – 30%. The Commission may relax these marks if reserved posts remain unfilled.

- Fee: ₹110/- plus service charges, online only.
- SC / ST candidates of West Bengal and PwBD candidates with 40% and above disability: Nil.
- OBC candidates must pay the fee. No fee exemption for SC/ST candidates of other States.

Part-I will be held at centres in Kolkata and other districts of West Bengal. Only scheduled tribe candidates of Darjeeling district and other candidates of Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik and Kurseong will be allowed at the Darjeeling centre. Candidates from Kalimpong district will appear at the Kalimpong centre. More than one application is forbidden.

Applications can be submitted ONLINE ONLY through the WBPSC website. Submission of more than one application is strictly forbidden.
➢ Step 1: Visit psc.wb.gov.in and open Advertisement No. 12/2024.
