✅ SER Cultural Quota 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
- Essential Educational Qualification: Passed 12th or its equivalent Examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate, from Government recognized Education Board. 50% mark is not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/ESM & PWBD candidates and candidates having higher qualification from UGC recognized University. (OR) Passed 10th (Matric) from recognized Board Plus ITI/ National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) approved by NCVT for Technician Grade-III in Level-2 of Pay Matrix of 7th CPC. (Diploma in Engineering is not considered as an alternative higher qualification).
- Essential Cultural Qualification: Degree/Diploma/Certificate course in respective discipline only from Government recognized University/Institute.
- Candidates not possessing the prescribed Cultural Qualification need not apply.
- Note: Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist should acquire Typing proficiency of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of two years from the date of appointment and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in the field of the applied discipline and performance given on All India Radio/Doordarshan etc., and Awards/Prizes won at National Level in applied discipline.
- Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027): 18 to 30 years for UR. Relaxation upto 3 years for OBC and upto 5 years for SC/ST in upper age. Further age relaxations are available for Serving Railway Employees (including casual labours/substitutes with 3 years continuous service), Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Widows/divorced Women and Women Judicially separated but not re-married, and staff of Quasi-Administrative offices, as per the detailed notification.
✅ SER Cultural Quota 2026 Selection Process:
- Stage-I: Written Test/OMR/CBT – 50 Marks. Objective type questions. Duration 60 minutes. Negative marking of one-third (1/3rd) of the marks allotted to a question for every incorrect answer. Qualifying percentage: 40%. Languages: English or Hindi. Subjects include General Knowledge, General Science, General Mathematics, Knowledge of general English & Official Language, professional knowledge, Reasoning and Aptitude etc.
- Stage-II: Assessment of Talent in the Applied Discipline – 50 Marks (Practical Demonstration in applied discipline – 35 Marks + Testimonials/Prizes etc. in the applied discipline – 15 Marks). Only candidates qualifying Stage-I are eligible for Stage-II. Candidates would be called for Stage-II in the ratio of 1:5 of notified vacancies as per the Merit Order in Stage-I.
- Total Marks: Stage-I + Stage-II = 100.
✅ SER Cultural Quota 2026 Examination Fee:
- For all candidates except those mentioned below: ₹500/- (Provision of refunding ₹400/- to those who actually appear in the written examination).
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Class: ₹250/- (Provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the written examination).
- Fee should be paid online using Internet Banking or Debit Card or Credit Card. Candidates must indicate if they wish to receive the refundable portion of Examination Fee on attending the written examination.
Minority means Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians Parsis. Economically Backward Classes means candidates whose family income is less than ₹50,000/- per annum. Relevant certificates must be uploaded.

✅ How to Apply for South Eastern Railway Cultural Quota Recruitment 2026:
Eligible candidates must apply ONLINE ONLY through the official website of RRC/SER. Applications received directly at RRC/SER will not be entertained.
➢ Step 1: Visit the official website of RRC/SER (www.rrcser.co.in) > Recruitment Cell. Click on “online/E-Application for Cultural Quota/2026-27” link and then on the “New Application” link.
➢ Step 2: Fill in the personal information viz. Name, Father’s name, Date of Birth, Community, E-mail address and Mobile number. Note the registration number and password received via E-mail/SMS.
➢ Step 3: Login using the Application number & Password. Upload the scanned copy of photograph, Signature and LTI, self-attested certificates in proof of date of birth, education/technical qualification, cultural qualification, caste certificates (if applicable), income certificate, etc. as per the prescribed formats.
➢ Step 4: Fill up all mandatory fields of the Online Application form and pay the examination fee online.
➢ Step 5: Submit the application on or before 16 November 2026. A Unique Application Number will be generated. Download the application form for further references. No change will be entertained after final submission.
