Note: Vacancies may increase or decrease as per requirement. If a seat remains unfilled in a specific discipline, candidates from other disciplines of the same apprentice type (Degree / Diploma / ITI) may be considered. OPTCL will pay 50% stipend for Degree and Diploma apprentices; remaining 50% will be paid by BOPT through DBT. Seats will be filled as per applicable reservation rules.
✅ OPTCL Apprenticeship 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals belonging to the State of Odisha are eligible to apply.
- Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026): Candidate should not be less than 18 years of age.
- Educational Qualification: As per Table-A below. Qualification must be from a recognised Board / Council / University / Institute as a regular full-time course. Passing certificate / final year mark sheet must be available as on 01.07.2026.
- Passing Year: Candidates must have passed during Academic Year 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26. The gap between date of joining apprenticeship and passing date of essential qualification should not be more than 3 years.
- Not Eligible: Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961, or have one year or more job experience. Candidates currently appearing for the qualifying examination are not eligible.
- Physical Standard: Candidates must meet the minimum physical standard as prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended).
- Portal Registration: Candidates must be registered on NATS / NAPS portal and Aadhaar must be seeded with bank account for DBT.

N.B.: For Non-Engineering Apprentices, Graduation in non-Engineering disciplines like BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA or equivalent shall be preferred.
✅ OPTCL Apprentice Training Period & Location:
- Period of apprenticeship training: One year (12 months).
- Training will be provided at different Units and offices of OPTCL spread across Odisha.
- No accommodation or allowance in lieu thereof shall be provided by OPTCL.
- It is not obligatory on the part of OPTCL to offer employment after completion of apprenticeship. Apprentices cannot claim employment as a matter of right.
✅ OPTCL Apprenticeship 2026 Selection Process:
- Selection will be made on the basis of Academic Merit / Written Test / Interview as required.
- Filling up of seats is solely at the discretion of OPTCL Management based on suitability of candidates.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending document verification / interview.
