- Educational Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognized Technical Board/University or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree holders in Civil Engineering are NOT eligible.
- Accepted Equivalent Diplomas: Civil & Rural Engineering, Civil Draftsman, Civil Engineering & Planning, Construction Technology, Quantity Surveying, Survey Engineering, etc. (as per Resolution dated 16/10/2025).
- Computer Knowledge: Basic as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.
- Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
- Citizenship: Indian citizen or as per relevant rules.
