✅ UPSC Geo Scientist Age Limit: 21 to 32 Years as on 1st January 2023. i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2002.
✅ UPSC Geo Scientist Eligibility Criteria:✔️ Chemist Gr ‘A’ and Scientist ‘B’ (Chemical): M. Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature or other educational Institutes established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed Universities under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 i.e. recognized University.
✔️ Scientist ‘B’ (Hydrogeology): Master’s degree in Geology or applied Geology or Marine Geology or Hydrogeology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
✔️ Scientist ‘B’ (Geophysics): Master of Science degree in Physics or Applied Physics or Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Marine Geophysics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Technology) (Applied Geophysics) from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
✅ UPSC Geo Scientist Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay a fee of ₹ 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI (State Bank of India) or by using Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card. There is no fee for Female / SC / ST / PH Candidates.
✅ UPSC Geo Scientist Selection Process:
✔️ Stage-I : Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) having two papers for selection of the candidates for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination. Marks secured in the Preliminary Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit.
✔️ Stage-II : Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type) having three papers for selection of candidates for the Personality Test (Stage-III). Marks secured in the Main Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit.
✔️ Stage-III: Personality Test/ Interview.
