NFR Scouts & Guides Pay Scale:
Level-2 (Grade Pay ₹1900) and Level-1 (Grade Pay ₹1800) of the 7th Central Pay Commission, with applicable allowances as per Northeast Frontier Railway rules.
NFR Scouts & Guides Eligibility Criteria:
✔️ Age Limit (as on 01/07/2025):
Level-2: 18-30 years (UR), 18-33 (OBC), 18-35 (SC/ST). Level-1: 18-33 years (UR), 18-36 (OBC), 18-38 (SC/ST). Additional relaxation as per Government rules for Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, etc.
✔️ Educational Qualifications:
(1) Level-2 (GP ₹1900): 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent with minimum 50% marks (not required for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen or candidates with higher qualifications like Graduation/Post Graduation). Typewriting proficiency (30 wpm English/25 wpm Hindi) required for clerical posts. For Artisan posts: Matriculation + ITI certificate.
(2) Level-1 (GP ₹1800): 10th pass or ITI from NCVT/SCVT-recognized institutions or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
✔️ Scouts & Guides Qualifications:
(1) President Scout/ Guide/ Rover/ Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder.
(2) Active member of Scouts organization for the last 5 years (01/04/2018 onwards) with Certificate of Activeness (Annexure-C).
(3) Attended two events at National/ All Indian Railways level and two events at State level.
NFR Scouts & Guides Selection Process:
✔️ Written Test: 60 marks (40 objective questions, 1 essay-type question on Scouts & Guides organization, activities, and general knowledge; syllabus as per notification).
✔️ Marks on Certificates: 40 marks (National/State events, specialized courses, district rallies).
✔️ Document Verification: Original certificates required.
✔️ Medical Examination: Candidates must pass prescribed medical standards.
NFR Scouts & Guides Application Fee:
✔️ ₹ 500/- for UR/OBC/EWS candidates (₹ 400/- refundable after written test appearance).
✔️ ₹ 250/- for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Minorities/EBC (fully refundable after written test appearance).
✔️ Payment via Indian Postal Order (IPO) in favor of PFA/NF Railway, payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati.
