SSC Stenographer Vacancy 2017 SSC Steno C and D 2017 Apply Online

SSC, Department of Personnel & Training, New Delhi has released short notification of Stenographer Grade 'C' (Group 'B' Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade 'D'(Group 'C' Non-Gazetted) Examination, 2017 scheduled to be held in September 2017. The SSC is going to conduct the Stenographer  Grade - ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination - 2017 in Computer Based Examination (CBE) Mode. The SSC Steno examination is tentatively scheduled to be held from 4th September 2017 to 7th September 2017. Vacancies will be determined in due course. The Vacancies of Stenographers are in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government, including their Attached/ Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.

18 to 27 Years as on 1st August 2017. The Upper Age Relaxation – 05 Years for SC / ST, 03 Years for OBC, for others as per Govt Rules.

Educational Qualification: Must have passed Matric with 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

Selection Process: Online Examination and Skill test in Stenography.

About Exam: Computer Based Examination (02 Hours). The Question paper will be of Objective Multiple choice type. Questions will be set in Hindi and English except Part-III. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer The exam scheduled to be held on 4th September to 7th September 2017.

Application Fee: ₹ 100/- for General and OBC Category Candidates. The fee be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank. There is no fee for SC, ST, PwD and Ex-serviceman Candidates.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold an All India Open Competitive Examination for recruitment of Grade 'C' ( Group 'B' Non-Gazetted ) and Stenographer Grade 'D'(Group 'C' Non-Gazetted).  The SSC Steno Group C&D exam 2016 scheduled to be held on 31st July 2016. Minimum Matric with 12th Standard Passed Candidates are eligible to Apply for SSC Stenographer Exam 2016. The closing date for submission of applications is 3rd June 2016.

Number of Vacancies: The Vacancies will be determined in due course and will be uploaded on SSC official website of the Commission after finalization of vacancies.
(a) Vacancies of Stenographer Grade 'C' and Stenographers Grade 'D' are in Ministries/ Departments of Central Government, including their Attached/ Subordinate offices located in States and Union Territories all over the country.
(b) The posts of Stenographers are not identified suitable for Hearing Impaired persons.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 Years as on 1st August 2016 Candidates born not before 02-08-1989 and not later than 01-08-1998).

Age Relaxation: 5 Years for SC/ST; 03 Years for OBC; 10 Years for PH; 13 Years for PH + OBC; 15 Years for PH + SC/ST. For Others (Ex-Serviceman etc) check out official Notification.

Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard (Matriculation with HSC) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

Selection Process: Written Examination and Skill Test in Stenography. The Examination will comprise of a Written Objective Type Examination followed by Skill Test in Stenography at 100 w.p.m. and 80 w.p.m. for Stenographer Grade 'C' &'D' respectively.

SSC Steno Grade C & D Exam Detail ->

(a) Exam Date – 31st July 2016 (Sunday);
(b) Exam Time - 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (OR) 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM (Duration 2 Hours), For Visually Handicapped candidates - Duration is 2 Hours 40 Minutes.
(c) The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi.
(d) Negative Marks 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
(e) Any representation regarding answer key of the written examination will be scrutinized and the decision of the Commission in this regard will be final and no further representation will be entertained.
(f) Commission reserves the right to introduce additional stage of examination which would be notified at suitable time, if considered necessary.

SSC Stenographer Grade C&D Exam Syllabus 2016:

General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc. The test will also include questions designed to test the candidate's abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

General Awareness: Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its Neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline. For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability /cerebral palsy affected candidates and opting for scribe there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning / General Awareness Paper.

English Language & Comprehension: In addition to the testing of candidates' understanding of the English Language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. his/her writing ability, would also be tested.

SSC Steno Skill Test Pattern 2016:

For Stenographer Grade 'D' ->  50 minutes (English), 65 minutes (Hindi)
For Stenographer Grade 'C' -> 40 minutes (English), 55 Minutes (Hindi)

Application Fee: ₹ 100/-. The Fee paid in respect of online application through SBI Challan / Net banking and any credit and debit cards will be accepted. The Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.
