State Bank of India (SBI) released clarification of Recruitment of Assistants (Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2014-15/02 ) in the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The Last date for registration of application is extended up to 7th July 2014 (Only J&K Candidates). Other states Online Registration was already closed (14th June 2014).

The vacancies will be considered for the entire State of Jammu & Kashmir and the selected candidates may be posted to any branch/office of the Bank in the state of J & K. The stipulation regarding knowledge of local language and the minimum period of stay will be as applicable to other States which is stated below:
(1) Knowledge of local language will be an added qualification.
(2) Candidates will not be entitled for inter/intra-state transfer in the first 5 years of service.

Educational Qualifications: Any Under Graduate (Degree) from a recognised university, or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central/State Government. Those who are in the final year of Graduation/Semester may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 31/08/2014.
Selection Process: Online Test and Interview.
SBI Assistant Exam 2014 Syllabus (Online Test):
(a) The test will be online objective type, consisting of (i) General Awareness (ii) General English (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (iv) Reasoning Ability (v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge.
(b) The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. Each test will be of 40 marks.For these objective type tests of total 200 marks candidates will be given a composite time of 2 Hours 15 minutes.
(c) There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. (d) Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon) for being considered for interview. Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
