- Essential Qualification: Must hold a Certificate of Competency as Master of Foreign Going Ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
- Indian citizens holding a Foreign Certificate of Competency recognized by India must acquire the relevant endorsement from the Directorate General of Shipping.
- Experience: One year post-qualification experience as Master / Chief Officer of a foreign going ship.
- Age Limit: Upper age limit is 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years | OBC (NCL) – 3 years | Existing employees of Major Port Authorities – up to 55 years | Ex-Servicemen – as per applicable Government guidelines.
