Training: Training will commence in the first week of January 2019 for all courses at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments. PAN Card, Aadhaar card and account in SBI/ Nationalised Bank is mandatory at the time of joining Air Force Academy (AFA).

Educational Qualifications:
Flying Branch –> Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level or BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty Branch (Accounts) –> B. Com. degree (Minimum three year degree course) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty Branch (Education) –> MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation (Minimum two year programme) and 60% marks in graduation (both recognised by UGC / Competent Accreditation Authority).
Physical Standards:
Flying Branch -> Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min - 99 cms. Max - 120 cms. Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms. Sitting Height : Min - 81.5 cms. Max - 96 cms.
Technical Branch -> Minimum height - Men -157.5 Cms, Women - 152 Cms with correlated weight. All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

Selection Procedure: All eligible applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch) to be conducted on 28 August 2016 (Sunday) at one of the examination centres.
The Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT/EKT) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar, Varanasi or Kancharapara. The testing would consist of three stages as given below:-
(a) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing. All Stage-I qualified candidates would be subjected to document check to ascertain their eligibility for the branches applied for. Those candidates who either do not qualify in Stage-I testing or do not meet the required eligibility criteria would be sent back on the first day itself.
(b) Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on subsequent days (Five Days).
(c) For Flying Branch: CPSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System) and / PABT would be administered to eligible candidates.
